The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.3.33

क्वचित्सर्गशतैस्तानि भवन्ति न भवन्ति वा ।
कदाचिदपि मायेयमित्थमन्तविवर्जिता ॥ ३३ ॥

kvacitsargaśataistāni bhavanti na bhavanti vā |
kadācidapi māyeyamitthamantavivarjitā || 33 ||

These beings are either reborn a hundred times in some age or never at all (as in the case of divine incarnations), and depending on the inscrutable will (Maya) of God.
