The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तृणपाषाणकाष्ठादिसर्वमामिषशङ्कया ।
आददाना स्फुरत्यन्ते तृष्णा मत्स्यी ह्रदे यथा ॥ ४४ ॥

tṛṇapāṣāṇakāṣṭhādisarvamāmiṣaśaṅkayā |
ādadānā sphuratyante tṛṣṇā matsyī hrade yathā || 44 ||

As the fishes in a pond fondly grasp the bait in expectation of a sop, so do the avaricious lay hold on any thing, be it wood or stone or even a straw.
