The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जरामरणदुःखानामेका रत्नसमुद्गिका ।
आधिव्याधिविलासानां नित्यं मत्ता विलासिनी ॥ ३९ ॥

jarāmaraṇaduḥkhānāmekā ratnasamudgikā |
ādhivyādhivilāsānāṃ nityaṃ mattā vilāsinī || 39 ||

Avarice like (Pandora's) box is filled with miseries, decrepitude and death, and is full of disorder and disasters like a mad bacchanal.
