Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततस्तु ते तद्गृहमग्निना वृतं प्रदीप्यमानं विषजेन भोगिनः ।
भयात्परित्यज्य दिशः प्रपेदिरे पपात तच्चाशनिताडितं यथा ॥ ४ ॥

tatastu te tadgṛhamagninā vṛtaṃ pradīpyamānaṃ viṣajena bhoginaḥ |
bhayātparityajya diśaḥ prapedire papāta taccāśanitāḍitaṃ yathā || 4 ||
