The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 7.10

कीर्णं ततः पुण्यकृता जनेन स्वर्गाभिकामेन विमोक्षकामः ।
तमाश्रमं सो ऽनुचचार धीरस्तपांसि चित्राणि निरीक्षमाणः ॥ १० ॥

kīrṇaṃ tataḥ puṇyakṛtā janena svargābhikāmena vimokṣakāmaḥ |
tamāśramaṃ so 'nucacāra dhīrastapāṃsi citrāṇi nirīkṣamāṇaḥ || 10 ||

He, the wise one, longing for liberation, traversed that hermitage filled with the holy company desirous of heaven,—gazing at their strange penances.
