The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 5.76

सुलभाः खलु संयुगे सहाया विषयावाप्तसुखे धनार्जने वा ।
पुरुषस्य तु दुर्लभाः सहायाः पतितस्यापदि धर्मसंश्रये वा ॥ ७६ ॥

sulabhāḥ khalu saṃyuge sahāyā viṣayāvāptasukhe dhanārjane vā |
puruṣasya tu durlabhāḥ sahāyāḥ patitasyāpadi dharmasaṃśraye vā || 76 ||

'Companions are easy to be found in battle or in the happiness obtained by winning worldly objects or in attaining wealth; but companions are hard for a man to find who has fallen into misfortune or when he flies for refuge to Dharma.
