This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 14.12

यां पुष्पितां वनलतां भ्रमराः पिबन्ति पुष्पागमे कुसुमरेणुविचित्रपक्षा ।
नैव त्वया कुपुरुष श्रुतपूर्वरूपं नात्रापरे मधुकराः प्रणयं करोन्ति ॥ १२ ॥

yāṃ puṣpitāṃ vanalatāṃ bhramarāḥ pibanti puṣpāgame kusumareṇuvicitrapakṣā |
naiva tvayā kupuruṣa śrutapūrvarūpaṃ nātrāpare madhukarāḥ praṇayaṃ karonti || 12 ||

When bees sip the flowering creepers of the forest in spring-time, their wings become spotted with pollen, You have not heard it said, O wretched man, that the creepers still preserve their virgin freshness. Other bees do not take their pleasure there. (12)
