[138.012]. aho batāhaṃ śakraṃ devānāmindramasmāt sthānāccyāvayitvā svayameva devānāṃ ca manuṣyāṇāṃ ca rājyaiśvaryādhipatyaṃ kārayeyam/
[138.013]. sahacittotpādādrājā mūrdhātastasmāt ṛddhitaḥ paribhraṣṭo jambudvīpeṣu pratyaṣṭhāt/
[138.014]. svaramābādhaṃ spṛṣṭavān/
[138.014]. pragāḍhāṃ devānāṃ maraṇāntikīm/
[138.014]. atha rājño mūrdhātasyāmātyagaṇamahāmātyā rājyakartāro mantrasahajīvino yena rājā mūrdhātastenopasaṃkrāntāḥ/
[138.016]. upasaṃkramya rājānaṃ mūrdhātamidamavocan--bhaviṣyanti khalu devasyātyayāt paścimā janapadāh? paripṛṣṭavantah--rājñā mūrdhātena maraṇasamaye kiṃ vyākṛtam? saced vo grāmṇyo mamātyayāt kaścidupasaṃkramyaivaṃ pṛcchet--kiṃ bhavanto rājñā mūrdhātena maraṇasamaye vyākṛtam, teṣāmidaṃ syādvacanīyām--rājā bhavanto mūrdhāto ratnaiḥ samanvāgato'bhūt/
[138.019]. catasṛbhiśca mānuṣikābhī ṛddhibhiścaturṣu dvīpeṣu rājyaiśvaryādhipatyaṃ kārayitvā devāṃstrāyastriṃśānadhirūḍhaḥ/
[138.021]. atṛpta eva pañcānāṃ kāmaguṇānāṃ kālagataḥ/
[138.022]. na kārṣāpaṇavarṣeṇa tṛptiḥ kāmeṣu vidyate/
[138.023]. alpāsvādān bahuduḥkhān kāmān vijñāya piṇḍataḥ//4//
[138.024]. api divyeṣu kāmeṣu ratiṃ naivādhigacchati/
[138.025]. tṛṣṇākṣaye rato bhavati samyaksambuddhaśrāvakaḥ//5//
[138.026]. parvato'pi suvarṇasya samo himavatā bhavet/
[138.027]. nālamekasya tadvittamiti vidvān samācaret//6//
[138.028]. yaḥ prekṣati duḥkhamitonidānaṃ kāmeṣu jātu sa kathaṃ ramate/
[138.030]. loke hi śalyamupādhiṃ viditvā tasyaiva dhīro vinayāya śikṣet//7//

[139.001]. [139] yadā ca punastena janakāyena śrutaṃ rājā mūrdhāto glāno maraṇāvasthita iti, tataste'mātyā janapadāścānekāni prāṇiśatasahasrāṇi rājānaṃ mūrdhātamupasaṃkramya darśanāya/
[139.002]. yatastena rājñā tasya janasya tāvadevaṃvidhā dharmadeśanā kṛtā--kāmeṣvādīnavakathā gṛhāśramapadasyādīnavo bhāṣitaḥ, tathā kāmo jugupsito yathā anekāni prāṇiśatasahasrāṇi ṛṣīṇāmantike pravrajya gṛhāśramapadānyapahāya vanaṃ saṃśritāḥ, ṛṣibhiḥ pravrajitvā catvāri brahmavihārān bhāvayitvā kāmeṣu kāmacchandaṃ prahāya tadbahulavihāriṇo brahmalokasabhāgatāyāmupapannāḥ/
[139.006]. yāvacca jambudvīpe yāvacca pūrvavidehe dvīpe yāvaccāparagodānīye dvīpe yāvaccottarakuruṣu yāvacca saptasu kāñcanamayeṣu parvateṣu yāvacca devāṃstrāyastriṃśānadhirūḍaḥ, atrāntare caturdaśottaraṃ śakraśataṃ cyutam/
[139.009]. śakrasya bhikṣavo devānāmindrasyāyuṣaḥ prāmāṇam yanmanuṣyāṇāṃ varṣamekaṃ devānāṃ trāyastriṃśānāmekarātriṃdivasam/
[139].011ṭena rātriṃdivasena triṃśadrātrakena māsena dvādaśamāsena saṃvatsareṇa divyaṃ varṣasahasraṃ devānāṃ trāyastriṃśānāmāyuṣaḥ pramāṇam/
[139.012]. tadbhavati mānuṣikayā gaṇanayā tisro varṣalakṣāḥ ṣaṣṭiśca varṣasahasrāṇi//
[139.014]. yasminnānanda samaye rājā mūrdhāto devāṃstrāyastriṃśānadhirūḍhaḥ, evaṃvidhaṃ cittamutpāditam--aho bata me śakro devānāmindro'rdhāsanenopanimantrayate, kāśyapo bhikṣustena kālena tena samayena śakro devānāmindro babhūva/
[139.016]. yasmin khalvānanda samaye rājño mūrdhātasyaivaṃvidhaṃ cittamutpannam--yannvahaṃ śakraṃ devānāmindramasmāt sthānāccyāvayitvā svayameva devānāṃ ca manuṣyāṇāṃ ca rājyaiśvaryādhipatyaṃ kārayeyam, kāśyapaḥ samyaksambuddhastena kālena tena samayena śakro devānāmindro babhūva/
[139.019]. maheśākhye sattve cittaṃ pradūṣitam, tasmādṛddheḥ paribhraṣṭo jambudvīpe pratyaṣṭhāt, kharamābādhaṃ spṛṣṭavān, prāgāḍhāṃ vedanāṃ maraṇāntikīm/
[139.020]. yo'sau rājā mūrdhātaḥ, ahamevānanda tena kālena tena samayena/
[139.021]. tatra tāvanmayā ānanda sarāgeṇa sadveṣeṇa samohena aparimuktena jātijarāvyādhimaraṇaśokaparidevaduḥkhadaurmanasyopāyāsadharmeṇa maraṇakālasamaye tāvadevaṃvidhā parikathā kṛtā yadanekāni prāṇiśatasahasrāṇi gṛhāśramamapahāya ṛṣibhyaḥ pravrajitvā kāmeṣu kāmacchandaṃ vyapahāya tadbahulavihāriṇo brahmalokamupapāditāḥ/
[139.024]. idānīṃ sarvajñenānuttarajñānajñeyavaśiprāptena nirvāṇāya saṃprasthitena tāvadevaṃvidhā dharmadeśanā kṛtā, yadanekāni devatā śatasahasrāṇi satyeṣu pratiṣṭhāpitāni/
[139.026]. anekāni ṛṣiśatasahasrāṇi etabhikṣava iti pravrajitāni/
[139.027]. tairyujyadbhirghaṭadbhirvyāyacchadbhiḥ sarvakleśaprahāṇādarhattvaṃ prāptam/
[139.027]. anekadevanāgayakṣagandharvāsuragaruḍakinnaramahoragāḥ śaraṇagamanaśikṣāpadeṣu vyavasthāpitāḥ/
[139.028]. anekāni vaiśālikāni prāṇiśatasahasrāṇi yeṣāṃ kecitsrotāpattiphale vyavasthāpitāḥ, kecit sakṛdāgāmiphale, kecidanāgāmiphale, kaiścit pravrajitvā^rhattvaṃ prāptam, kaiścit śrāvakabodhau, kaiścit pratyekabodhau, kaiścidanuttarāyāṃ samyaksambodhau cittamutpāditāni, kaiściccharaṇagamanaśikṣāpadāni gṛhītāni//

[140.001]. [140] bhikṣavaḥ saṃśayajātāḥ sarvasaṃśayacchettāraṃ buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ pṛcchanti--kāni bhadanta karmāṇi kṛtāni rājñā mūrdhātena yeṣāṃ karmaṇāṃ vipākena sahacittotpādādeva saptāhamantaḥpure hiraṇyavarṣaṃ vṛṣṭam? bhagavānāha--
[140.004]. bhūtapūrvaṃ bhikṣavo'tīte'dhvani sarvābhibhūr nāma tathāgato'rhaṃl loke utpanno vidyācaraṇasampannaḥ sugato lokavidanuttaraḥ puruṣadamyasārathiḥ śāstā devamanuṣyāṇāṃ buddho bhagavān/
[140.006]. tena khalu samayena anyataraḥ śreṣṭhidārako'cirapratiṣṭhitaḥ/
[140.006]. tatra viṣaye dharmatā-- aciroḍhā dārikā bhartari pravahaṇakena pratipradīyate, catūratnamayaiḥ puṣpairavakīrya baddhakā svāmine pradīyate/
[140.008]. ca bhartāramādāya svagṛhaṃ gacchati/
[140.008]. sa ca śreṣṭhidārakaścatūratnamayāni puṣpāṇi pratigṛhya yānamadhiruhya śvaśuragṛhamanuprasthitaḥ/
[140.009]. tasya gacchato'bhimukhaṃ sarvābhibhūḥ samyaksambuddho janapadeṣu caryāṃ carannanupūrveṇābhyāgataḥ/
[140.010]. taṃ dṛṣṭvā dvātriṃśallakṣaṇālaṃkṛtamasecanakadarśanamatīva prasāda utpannaḥ/
[140.011]. yato'sau prasādīkṛtacetā yānādavatīrya taṃ bhagavantaṃ taiścatūratnamayaiḥ puṣpairavakiriti/
[140.012]. tāni sarvābhibhuvā samyaksambuddhenādhiṣṭhitāni tathā yathā śakaṭacakramātrāṇyabhinirvṛttāni/
[140.013]. tāni vitānaṃ baddhvā gacchato'nugacchanti, tiṣṭhatastiṣṭhanti/
[140.013]. sa prasādajāto gāthāṃ bhāṣate--
[140.015]. anena dānena mahadgatena buddho bhaveyaṃ sugataḥ svayambhūḥ/
[140.017]. tīrṇaśca tārayeyaṃ mahājanaughān atāritā ye pūrvakairjinendraiḥ//8//
[140.019]. sarvābhibhūrme bhagavān maharṣiravakīrṇaḥ puṣpaiḥ sumanoramaiśca/
[140.021]. praṇidhiśca me tatra kṛtā udārā ākāṅkṣatā idamagrabodhim//9//
[140.023]. tasyaiva karmaṇo vipākato me prāpta hi me bodhiḥ śivā anuttarā/
[140.025]. vṛṣṭaṃ ca saptāhahiraṇyavarṣaṃ mūrdhātasya rājño mahābalasya//10//
[140.027]. tasyaiva karmaṇo vipākato me nagaramapi sauvarṇakāñcanaṃ babhūva mahāsudarśanasya ramaṇīyā kuśāvatī nāma purī babhūva//
[140.029]. bhikṣavaḥ saṃśayajātāḥ sarvasaṃśayacchettāraṃ buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ pṛcchanti--kīdṛśaṃ bhadanta rājñā mūrdhātena karma kṛtam yasya karmaṇo vipākena caturṣu dvīpeṣu rājyaiśvaryādhipatyaṃ kāritam, devāṃstrāyastriṃśānadhirūḍhah? bhagavānāha--

[141.001]. [141] bhūtapūrvaṃ bhikṣavo'tīte'dhvani vipaśyī nāma tathāgato'rhan samyaksambuddho loke utpannaḥ/
[141.002]. atha sa vipaśyī samyaksabuddho janapadeṣu caryāṃ caramāṇo'nupūrveṇa bandhumatīṃ rājadhānīmanuprāptaḥ/
[141.003]. atha vipaśyī samyaksambuddhaḥ pūrvāhṇe nivāsya pātracīvaramādāya bandhumatīṃ piṇḍāya prāviśāt/
[141.004]. tatrānyataraścautkariko nāma vaṇik/
[141.004]. bhagavantaṃ vipaśyinamasecanakadarśanarūpaṃ dṛṣṭvā adhikaḥ prasāda utpannaḥ/
[141.005]. prasādajātena tasya mudgānāṃ muṣṭiṃ gṛhītvā pātre prakṣiptā/
[141.006]. tato mudgāścatvāraḥ pātre patitāḥ, ekaḥ kaṇṭakamāhatya bhūmau patitaḥ/
[141.006]. avaśiṣṭaṃ naivaṃ saṃprāptaṃ pātram, asamprāptā eva bhūmau patitāḥ/
[141.007]. tato vaṇik prasādajātaḥ praṇidhiṃ karoti--
[141.009]. anena dānena mahadgatena buddho bhaveyaṃ sugataḥ svayambhūḥ/
[141.011]. tīrṇaśca tārayeyaṃ mahājanaughān na tāritā ye pūrvakairjinendraiḥ//11/
[141.013]. bhagavānāha--yo'sau otkariko vaṇik, ahameva tena kālena tena samayena/
[141.013]. yanmayā vipaśyinaḥ samyaksambuddhasya prasādajātena mudgānāṃ muṣṭiḥ pātre pakṣiptā, tasmāccatvāro mudgāḥ pātre patitā avaśiṣṭā bhūmau patitāḥ, tasya karmaṇo vipākena caturṣu dvīpeṣu rājyaiśvaryādhipatyaṃ kāritam/
[141.016]. yaścāsau mudgaḥ pātrakaṇṭakamāhatya bhūmau patitaḥ, tasya karmaṇo vipākena trāyastriṃśān devānadhirūḍaḥ/
[141.017]. sacedbhikṣavaḥ sa mudgaḥ pātre patito'bhaviṣyanna bhūmau, sthāanametadvidyate yaddeveṣu ca manuṣyeṣu ca rājyaiśvaryādhipatyaṃ kāritamabhaviṣyat/
[141.018]. yo'sau otkariko vaṇik tena kālena tena samayena, sa eṣa rājā mūrdhātaḥ/
[141.019]. yo mūrdhāto rājā, ahameva sa tena kālena tena samayena/
[141.020]. yasmādevaṃ buddhe bhagavati mahākāruṇike kārāḥ kṛtā atyarthaṃ mahāphalā bhavanti mahānuśaṃśā mahādyutayo mahāvaistārikā iti, tasmādbhavabodhiḥ/
[141.021]. kiṃ karaṇīyam? buddhe dharme saṃghe kārāḥ karaṇīyāḥ samyakpraṇidhānāni ca karaṇīyānīti//
[141.023]. idamavocadbhagavān/
[141.023]. āttamanasaste bhikṣavo bhagavato bhāṣitamabhyanandan//

[141.024]. iti śrīdivyāvadāne māndhātāvadānaṃ saptadaśamam//
