अब्धेर्द्वीपं पुनर्द्वीपादब्धिं द्वीपं गिरिं वनम् ।
लाघवाल्लङ्घयामासुश्छेदभेदविवर्जिताः ॥ २ ॥

abdherdvīpaṃ punardvīpādabdhiṃ dvīpaṃ giriṃ vanam |
lāghavāllaṅghayāmāsuśchedabhedavivarjitāḥ || 2 ||

They passed over the ocean to some island, and then from that island to the sea again; and in this manner they traversed on foot, over many a mountain and wilderness in interminable succession.
