The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.120.12

विलोलमञ्जरीजालतडित्सङ्गस्थितोऽसितः ।
चातकस्याम्बुदभ्रान्तिं तमालः कुरुते मुधा ॥ १२ ॥

vilolamañjarījālataḍitsaṅgasthito'sitaḥ |
cātakasyāmbudabhrāntiṃ tamālaḥ kurute mudhā || 12 ||

So the tamala tree with its blushing blossoms, beguile the thirsty chataka by its false appearance of a rainy cloud, so the fair outside of the fool, deceives the unwise by his inward foulness.
