The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

शीतलास्पदवत्स्निग्धाः प्रावृषीव पयोधराः ।
भूभृद्भङ्गकरं धीरा देशभङ्गदमाकुलम् ॥ ९ ॥

śītalāspadavatsnigdhāḥ prāvṛṣīva payodharāḥ |
bhūbhṛdbhaṅgakaraṃ dhīrā deśabhaṅgadamākulam || 9 ||

They are as cold as any cooling thing, or like the clouds in the rainy season; and as sedate as rocks, and capable of removing the calamities of people, by their meritorious acts.
