The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विवेकवृक्षपान्नाम वृत्तीस्त्यजति भूगताः ।
उन्नतं पदमासाद्य भूयो नाधः समीहते ॥ ५ ॥

vivekavṛkṣapānnāma vṛttīstyajati bhūgatāḥ |
unnataṃ padamāsādya bhūyo nādhaḥ samīhate || 5 ||

Worldly people decline to ascend the foot of the tree of knowledge, but those who have mounted high upon it, never think of ever coming down from the high position which they have attained.
