The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पावकव्यतिरेकेण ज्वालाली येन भाविता ।
तस्याग्निबुद्धिर्गलति ज्वालाधीरेव तिष्ठति ॥ १० ॥

pāvakavyatirekeṇa jvālālī yena bhāvitā |
tasyāgnibuddhirgalati jvālādhīreva tiṣṭhati || 10 ||

He who sees the flames only, and is unmindful of the fire which emits the flashes; is said to be ignorant of the material element, and conversant with its transient and evanescent flash only.
