The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रकृतय ऊचुः ।
राजन्नस्माकमधिपो यस्त्वया स पुरस्कृतः ।
मृत्युना विनिगीर्णोऽसौ मत्स्येनेवामिषं मृदु ॥ ७ ॥

prakṛtaya ūcuḥ |
rājannasmākamadhipo yastvayā sa puraskṛtaḥ |
mṛtyunā vinigīrṇo'sau matsyenevāmiṣaṃ mṛdu || 7 ||

The people said:—Great king! the person who thou didst appoint to rule over us, is lately devoured by death as a little fish by a large one.
