The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मोक्षादृते न शाम्यन्ति जीवतां चक्षुरादयः ।
उन्मज्जन्ति निमज्जन्ति केवलं देशकालतः ॥ ४८ ॥

mokṣādṛte na śāmyanti jīvatāṃ cakṣurādayaḥ |
unmajjanti nimajjanti kevalaṃ deśakālataḥ || 48 ||

You can never subdue your senses, nor prevent your transmigrations, without gaining your liberation; but must continue to rise and plunge in the stream of life forever more and in all places.
