The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.32.34

स्वसंवित्तिवशाज्जीवो वैवश्यमुपगच्छति ।
पद्मयन्त्रं शरीरस्थं प्रवाहं याति नित्यदा ॥ ३४ ॥

svasaṃvittivaśājjīvo vaivaśyamupagacchati |
padmayantraṃ śarīrasthaṃ pravāhaṃ yāti nityadā || 34 ||

When a living body has its inward consciousness, and becomes inert and motionless in its outer parts and members, it is still alive by the action of breathing in the inner organ of the heart.
