The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रूयते मरणायैव चिद्बोधपरिवर्जितम् ।
फलभोगोऽपि यो मूढात्तदरण्यतरोरिव ॥ २९ ॥

śrūyate maraṇāyaiva cidbodhaparivarjitam |
phalabhogo'pi yo mūḍhāttadaraṇyataroriva || 29 ||

The life of the unintelligent man, is only for its extinction or death; and its desire of fruition is as false, as the fruit of an unfruitful tree in the woody forest.
