The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.92.26

वासनासंपरित्यागाच्चित्तं गच्छत्यचित्तताम् ।
प्राणस्पन्दनिरोधाच्च यथेच्छसि तथा कुरु ॥ २६ ॥

vāsanāsaṃparityāgāccittaṃ gacchatyacittatām |
prāṇaspandanirodhācca yathecchasi tathā kuru || 26 ||

By renunciation of desire, the mind is reduced to an insensible and dead block; but by restraining your breathing, you can do whatever you like. By the practice of the pranayama, the yogi identifies himself with the Supreme, and can do all things as the Deity.
