The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.28.20

इत्युक्ता गुरुणा तत्र हर्षामर्षविषादजाम् ।
दैत्याश्चिन्तां जहुः शुष्कां मञ्जरीमिव पादपाः ॥ २० ॥

ityuktā guruṇā tatra harṣāmarṣaviṣādajām |
daityāścintāṃ jahuḥ śuṣkāṃ mañjarīmiva pādapāḥ || 20 ||

After Sukra the Guru and guide of the demons, had spoken in this manner, they were filled with alternate joy and grief in their hearts, and cast aside their anxiety about him, as a tree casts its withered leaves away.
