The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.54.32

भ्रमदा जडसंस्थानाः संकल्पास्तडिदग्नयः ।
यदेवासन्मयं पुत्र तदेवाशु चिकित्सितुम् ॥ ३२ ॥

bhramadā jaḍasaṃsthānāḥ saṃkalpāstaḍidagnayaḥ |
yadevāsanmayaṃ putra tadevāśu cikitsitum || 32 ||

Our desires are as fickle as flashes of lightning, and proceed from the minds of the ignorant, as the lightning darts itself from the watery clouds ([Bengali: nalada]); they are equally fleeting and misguiding, and must be speedily avoided by the wise.
