The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.35.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
जयन्ति ते महाशूराः साधवो यैर्विनिर्जितम् ।
अविद्यामेदुरोल्लासैः स्वमनो विषयोन्मुखम् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
jayanti te mahāśūrāḥ sādhavo yairvinirjitam |
avidyāmedurollāsaiḥ svamano viṣayonmukham || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—Blessed are the virtuous, who have cleansed their hearts from the dirt of ignorance; and victorious are those heroes, who have conquered their insatiable and ungovernable minds.
