The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विचित्ररूपोदेतीयमविचित्रात्स्थितिः शिवात् ।
एकवर्णात्पयोवाहाच्छक्रचापलता यथा ॥ ५४ ॥

vicitrarūpodetīyamavicitrātsthitiḥ śivāt |
ekavarṇātpayovāhācchakracāpalatā yathā || 54 ||

As the colourless cloud receives in its bosom, the variety of transient hues displayed in the rainbow; so the inscrutable spirit of the Almighty, reflects and refracts the various colours displayed in creation.
