The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जतुकाष्ठादिसंबन्धो यः समासमयोगतः ।
नान्योन्यानुभवायासौ तदेकस्पन्दमात्रकम् ॥ ३४ ॥

jatukāṣṭhādisaṃbandho yaḥ samāsamayogataḥ |
nānyonyānubhavāyāsau tadekaspandamātrakam || 34 ||

The relation of gum resin and the tree, is one of dissimilar union, and affords no distinct ideas of them except that of the tree which contains the other.
