The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

परस्पराङ्गविच्छेदरक्तसिक्तधरातलम् ।
हरिग्रसनसंरब्धमत्तक्षुधितवारणम् ॥ १९ ॥

parasparāṅgavicchedaraktasiktadharātalam |
harigrasanasaṃrabdhamattakṣudhitavāraṇam || 19 ||

The ground was sprinkled with blood, by the mutual biting and tearing of men; as when blood is spilt in profusion, by the lion's killing a big and starving elephant.
