The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मन्त्र्युवाच ।
अयं राजा किरातानामस्याहं मन्त्रितां गतः ।
उद्यतौ रात्रिचर्येण त्वादृग्जनविनिग्रहे ॥ ३६ ॥

ayaṃ rājā kirātānāmasyāhaṃ mantritāṃ gataḥ |
udyatau rātricaryeṇa tvādṛgjanavinigrahe || 36 ||

The minister said:—This is the king of the Kiratas, and I his councillor; we have come out tonight in our nightly round, for apprehending malicious beings like thyself.
