The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.50.48

यदा तदाहतिं तस्य कण्ठेऽदात्सिन्धुरुद्धतः ।
अर्धविच्छिन्नकण्ठोऽसावनुयातोऽथ सिन्धुना ॥ ४८ ॥

yadā tadāhatiṃ tasya kaṇṭhe'dātsindhuruddhataḥ |
ardhavicchinnakaṇṭho'sāvanuyāto'tha sindhunā || 48 ||

At this instant, the savage Sindhu struck a sabre on his neck, and pursued the car in which the dying monarch was borne back to his tent.
