The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.49.12

श्यामाश्यामं पिशाचास्त्रमथ सिन्धुरचोदयत् ।
तेनोदगुः पिशाचानां पङ्क्तयोऽत्यन्तभीतिदाः ॥ १२ ॥

śyāmāśyāmaṃ piśācāstramatha sindhuracodayat |
tenodaguḥ piśācānāṃ paṅktayo'tyantabhītidāḥ || 12 ||

Sindhu then cast his demoniac weapons (Pisachastras) as black as darkness, which fled as lines of horrid Pisacha demons on all sides.
