Verse 3.39.5

निःसत्त्वेषु तमोन्धेषु रसनारसशालिषु ।
संकोचमाययुः पद्मामृतानां हृदयेष्विव ॥ ५ ॥

niḥsattveṣu tamondheṣu rasanārasaśāliṣu |
saṃkocamāyayuḥ padmāmṛtānāṃ hṛdayeṣviva || 5 ||

The busy buzz of Creation being silent in the dead darkness of night, like the humming of bees over the surface of the waters, the hearts of men were closed in sleep as in death, like the petals of the lotus at night.
