The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

केचिन्नित्यान्धकाराढ्यास्तथा शीलितजन्तवः ।
केचिन्नित्यप्रकाशाढ्यास्तथा शीलितजन्तवः ॥ २८ ॥

kecinnityāndhakārāḍhyāstathā śīlitajantavaḥ |
kecinnityaprakāśāḍhyāstathā śīlitajantavaḥ || 28 ||

Some are quite blind and suited to darkness (as owls and moles and bats); others are suited to light (as men, birds and beasts), and some to both.
