The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जरातुषारवलिते शरीरसदनान्तरे ।
शक्नुवन्त्यक्षशिशवः स्पन्दितुं न मनागपि ॥ ३२ ॥

jarātuṣāravalite śarīrasadanāntare |
śaknuvantyakṣaśiśavaḥ spandituṃ na manāgapi || 32 ||

As infants cannot play in a room that has become cold with snow, so the senses can have no play in the body that is stricken with age.
