The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मांसस्नाय्वस्थिवलिते शरीरपटहेऽदृढे ।
मार्जारवदहं तात तिष्ठाम्यत्र गतध्वनौ ॥ ११ ॥

māṃsasnāyvasthivalite śarīrapaṭahe'dṛḍhe |
mārjāravadahaṃ tāta tiṣṭhāmyatra gatadhvanau || 11 ||

The body composed of flesh, nerves and bones, resembles a drum without any musical sound, and yet I sit watching it as a cat.
