[This is an example of a fault which is not considered faulty in the context of soliloquy:]
भूतादिर् एष भूतानां जनको मां न मुञ्चति |
तेनाहं कपिलं साक्षाद् ईश्वरं गुरुम् आश्रये ||
bhūtādir eṣa bhūtānāṃ janako māṃ na muñcati |
tenāhaṃ kapilaṃ sākṣād īśvaraṃ gurum āśraye ||
This bhūtādi, the generator of the elements, does not let me go. Therefore I take shelter of Kapila. He is a guru and the Lord in person.
Commentary:
The word bhūta-ādi (the first among things) denotes ahaṅkāra in tamo-guṇa. That meaning is well known only in the Sāṅkhya philosophy. The author of Kṛṣṇānandinī also says that the verse is the cogitation of King Rahūgaṇa while he was approaching Kapila, the propounder of Sāṅkhya, on the path. In other contexts, that meaning of the word bhūtādi would be an instance of apratīta (not understood).
