Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. इन्द्रत्वेऽपि स्थितं वीर बलहीनं पराजितम् ।
आवयोश्च मिथो भेदे प्रयतिष्यन्त्यतन्द्रिताः ॥ १६ ॥

indratve'pi sthitaṃ vīra balahīnaṃ parājitam |
āvayośca mitho bhede prayatiṣyantyatandritāḥ || 16 ||
