Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यद्येतदहमज्ञास्यं वनवासो हि वो ध्रुवम् ।
शतशृङ्गान्मृते पाण्डौ नागमिष्यं गजाह्वयम् ॥ १७ ॥

yadyetadahamajñāsyaṃ vanavāso hi vo dhruvam |
śataśṛṅgānmṛte pāṇḍau nāgamiṣyaṃ gajāhvayam || 17 ||
