Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. संकीर्णाचारधर्मेषु प्रतिलोमचरेषु च ।
पिशिताशिषु चान्त्येषु मूढ राजा भविष्यसि ॥ १२ ॥

saṃkīrṇācāradharmeṣu pratilomacareṣu ca |
piśitāśiṣu cāntyeṣu mūḍha rājā bhaviṣyasi || 12 ||
