Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. This portion also contains the Bhagavad-Gita. Alternative titles: Mahābhārata (महाभारत).

Verse 13.78.27

यावन्ति लोमानि भवन्ति धेन्वास्तावन्ति वर्षाणि महीयते सः ।
स्वर्गाच्च्युतश्चापि ततो नृलोके कुले समुत्पत्स्यति गोमिनां सः ॥ २७ ॥

yāvanti lomāni bhavanti dhenvāstāvanti varṣāṇi mahīyate saḥ |
svargāccyutaścāpi tato nṛloke kule samutpatsyati gomināṃ saḥ || 27 ||
