Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. न च कामसमायुक्ते मुक्तेऽप्यस्ति त्रिदण्डकम् ।
न रक्ष्यते त्वया चेदं न मुक्तस्यास्ति गोपना ॥ ५६ ॥

na ca kāmasamāyukte mukte'pyasti tridaṇḍakam |
na rakṣyate tvayā cedaṃ na muktasyāsti gopanā || 56 ||
