The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 13.58

अप्युष्णभावं ज्वलनः प्रजह्यादापो द्रवत्वं पृथिवी स्थिरत्वम् ।
अनेककल्पाचितपुण्यकर्मा न त्वेव जह्याद्व्यवसायमेषः ॥ ५८ ॥

apyuṣṇabhāvaṃ jvalanaḥ prajahyādāpo dravatvaṃ pṛthivī sthiratvam |
anekakalpācitapuṇyakarmā na tveva jahyādvyavasāyameṣaḥ || 58 ||

'Even fire might lose its hot nature, water its fluidity, earth its steadiness, but never will he abandon his resolution, who has acquired his merit by a long course of actions through unnumbered aeons.
