This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 112.49

ततो क्षता च आर्त्ता च बहुरुधिरम्रक्षिता ।
असिपत्रवना मुक्ता यान्ति वैतरणीं नदीं ॥ ४९ ॥

tato kṣatā ca ārttā ca bahurudhiramrakṣitā |
asipatravanā muktā yānti vaitaraṇīṃ nadīṃ || 49 ||

When they have escaped from the sword-leafed forest, wounded, racked and steeped in blood, they go to the river Vaitarani. (49)
