This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 76.162

पुरा तुवं रूपियभाजनेषु सुवर्णपात्रेषु च भुंजियान ।
शुचिं प्रणीतरसकं च भोजनं राजानुभावेन उपस्थिहेन्सु ॥ १६२ ॥

purā tuvaṃ rūpiyabhājaneṣu suvarṇapātreṣu ca bhuṃjiyāna |
śuciṃ praṇītarasakaṃ ca bhojanaṃ rājānubhāvena upasthihensu || 162 ||

“Formerly thou didst eat from vessels of silver and bowls of gold. Men set before thee wholesome and exquisitely flavoured food as became thy kingly station. (162)
