This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.572

अष्टांगुपेतां जलशोभमानां उद्यानश्रेष्ठां लभते पुष्किरिण्यो ।
दिव्योत्पलेहि च शोभमाना शोधेत्व स्तूपं पुरुषोत्तमस्य ॥ ५७२ ॥

aṣṭāṃgupetāṃ jalaśobhamānāṃ udyānaśreṣṭhāṃ labhate puṣkiriṇyo |
divyotpalehi ca śobhamānā śodhetva stūpaṃ puruṣottamasya || 572 ||

He who has cleansed a tope of the Supreme Man wins the noblest perfect gardens, gleaming with the water of lotus-pools and gay with celestial lotuses. (572)
