This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.270

शक्यं भवाग्रां ज्ञातुं त्रिसहस्रां इह सर्वभूमिवृक्षवाततेजः ।
तृणलताऔषधिवीर्यसंख्यां न बुद्धवर्णो क्षपयितुं शक्य सर्वं ॥ २७० ॥

śakyaṃ bhavāgrāṃ jñātuṃ trisahasrāṃ iha sarvabhūmivṛkṣavātatejaḥ |
tṛṇalatāauṣadhivīryasaṃkhyāṃ na buddhavarṇo kṣapayituṃ śakya sarvaṃ || 270 ||

“It might he possible to know the system of three thousand worlds up to the highest heaven, the whole earth, trees, wind and fire, and count the grasses, creepers, herbs and seeds, hut it is not possible to dim all the lustre of the Buddha. (270)
