This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 49.42

कामां संपत्तिं राजलक्ष्मीं रतिं श्रीं ।
एतां पृच्छाहि सर्वलोकप्रधानां ॥ ४२ ॥

kāmāṃ saṃpattiṃ rājalakṣmīṃ ratiṃ śrīṃ |
etāṃ pṛcchāhi sarvalokapradhānāṃ || 42 ||

Pleasures, success, royal prosperity, joy, honour, these are the things you should ask for, the chiefest things in the world. (42)
