This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 34.186

सो अवच हन्त पश्यथ सुव्यपदेशक्षेमं मम पुत्रं ।
मरुमनुजहर्षजननं लक्षणगुणपारमीप्राप्तं ॥ १८६ ॥

so avaca hanta paśyatha suvyapadeśakṣemaṃ mama putraṃ |
marumanujaharṣajananaṃ lakṣaṇaguṇapāramīprāptaṃ || 186 ||

The king replied, “Come, see my son, whose good name is secure, who brings joy to devas and men, and who possesses the marks of excellence to perfection.” (186)
