This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 20.31

अथ सा अमरवधुनिभा देवी उत्थाय आसनवरातो ।
अब्रवीत् महीपतिवरं आदित्ये अस्तमितमात्रे ॥ ३१ ॥

atha sā amaravadhunibhā devī utthāya āsanavarāto |
abravīt mahīpativaraṃ āditye astamitamātre || 31 ||

“I will cultivate harmlessness towards living things, and live the chaste life. I will abstain from theft, intoxication, and frivolous speech. (31)
