This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.31

शीघ्रं गजतुरगवतीं सेनां पदातिसमाकुलां विपुलां ।
प्रासशरशक्तिचित्रां सज्जिय प्रतिवेदयध्वं मम ॥ ३१ ॥

śīghraṃ gajaturagavatīṃ senāṃ padātisamākulāṃ vipulāṃ |
prāsaśaraśakticitrāṃ sajjiya prativedayadhvaṃ mama || 31 ||

“Quickly get ready an army of troops with elephants and horses, and a large host of foot-soldiers, bristling with darts and arrows and swords, and report to me. (31)
