by Émile Senart | 1882 | 56,574 words

This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 12.67

सो प्रवरकाञ्चननिभं नरमरुगणसत्कृतं रतनचूडं ।
भोजयति सपरिवारं वर्षाणि दश अविश्रामं ॥ ६७ ॥

so pravarakāñcananibhaṃ naramarugaṇasatkṛtaṃ ratanacūḍaṃ |
bhojayati saparivāraṃ varṣāṇi daśa aviśrāmaṃ || 67 ||

And he feasted the gold-like Ratanacuda, the honoured of devas and men, and his followers for ten years without wearying. (67)
