The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.135.11

तेषां तान्यथ भूतानां मेदोजालानि भूतले ।
विस्तृतान्यवशुष्काणि स्थितातो मेदिनी मही ॥ ११ ॥

teṣāṃ tānyatha bhūtānāṃ medojālāni bhūtale |
vistṛtānyavaśuṣkāṇi sthitāto medinī mahī || 11 ||

And because the earth was besmeared, with the fat and flesh (medhas) of the corpse, it is thenceforward termed the medini or corpus.
