The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.44.11

कर्तव्योऽङ्कुरितस्यास्य रक्षिता शिक्षिताशयः ।
संतोषनामा प्रियया नित्यं मुदितयान्वितः ॥ ११ ॥

kartavyo'ṅkuritasyāsya rakṣitā śikṣitāśayaḥ |
saṃtoṣanāmā priyayā nityaṃ muditayānvitaḥ || 11 ||

It is the duty of the well taught man, after the sprouting forth of the seed, to preserve it always with the assistance of his two consorts—contentment and cheerfulness.
