The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.126.51

जनित्वा योगमेवैते सेवन्ते योगवासिताः ।
तत्र प्राग्भावनाभ्यस्तयोगभूमिक्रमं बुधाः ।
स्मृत्वा परिपतन्त्युच्चैरुत्तरं भूमिकाक्रमम् ॥ ५१ ॥

janitvā yogamevaite sevante yogavāsitāḥ |
tatra prāgbhāvanābhyastayogabhūmikramaṃ budhāḥ |
smṛtvā paripatantyuccairuttaraṃ bhūmikākramam || 51 ||

Being thus born, he betakes himself to the habitual practice of the yoga of his former birth; and has the wisdom to begin at once at the stage to which he was practiced, and which was left unfinished before.
